For the past 14 years, Sarah has had the profound blessing of getting to share her love of music and passion for Jewish education with Jewish communities all across the country.  A product of Jewish summer camp, she fell in love with Judaism (Jewish music and tefillah, specifically) back when she was just a small child with a bowl-cut.  Always striving to create welcoming, inclusive, and participatory Jewish prayer spaces, she masterfully weaves the contemporary with the traditional and uses her warmth, joy, and humor to connect with people of all ages and identities. 

Recently Sarah served as an Interim Cantor for a newly merged congregation in Connecticut, and prior to that, she spent 5 years as the Music and Youth Director at Temple Beth El in Birmingham, AL, where she met her husband, Alan, and his adorably defiant Australian cattle dog, Corbin.

Sarah is also a Kol-Bo student at the Academy for Jewish Religion where she is pursuing both Cantorial and Rabbinical ordination.  Cantor Sarah is giddily excited to have found her new spiritual home here at Congregation Beth Emeth and looks forward to meeting y'all and diving into her new role as Cantor Educator.
