We’ll study Tractate Sanhedrin, part 2; topics include courts, the death penalty, the rebellious child, and who has a part in the world to come. This is a new term of the ongoing "Talmud in Translation" series, but there are no prerequisites and new participants welcome! While the class will be accessible on Zoom, in-person participation is strongly preferred if you are able.
Cost: Suggested donation of $120 per Beth Emeth member or $150 per non-member, which will help support CBE’s Purim Carnival in March.
Study materials: We’ll be using: Volume 30 of the Koren Talmud Bavli, focusing on Chapters 8 and 11. Relevant sections will be handed out in class, but if you would like to order the volume, it is available in several formats at on the Koren website (sorry, the paperback version is not available yet):
- Hardback large print, $49.95 (recommended): Vol. 30 Sanhedrin Part 2 - Large
- Hardback regular print, $39.95: Vol. 30 Sanhedrin Part 2 - Medium
- PDF, $9.95: Vol. 30: Sanhedrin Part 2- PDF
